Battery always have a DC voltageVoltage refers to the amount of electrical potential your battery holds. The standard automotive battery in today's vehicles is a 12-volt battery. Each battery has six cells, each with 2.1 volts at full charge. A car battery is considered fully charged at 12.6 volts or higher. The AC Series offers a broad range of dependable flooded/wet batteries in 6-volt and 12-volt sizes, and delivers numerous features and benefits over competitor batteries including: Maxguard® Advanced Design Separator and Alpha Plus® paste formulation for long life, industry-leading performance and lower overall maintenance costs. Two battery case options – Polyon™ case for exceptional durability in heavy service applications or a generic case design for standard applications. Trojan’s AC Series offers high- to low-capacity points to meet your application and economic needs, all with the same Trojan quality.
With Trojan’s AC Series you can expect maximum uptime and more productive hours on the job. In that case, the dome light will remain on all night and the battery will be very low in the morning.indoor garden ac unitsI made this charger when I ordered some electronic parts and received a 120 to 12 volt AC transformer with center tap. 4 ton ac and heating unitSending it back would have cost as much as the transformer. split unit ac power consumptionSimilar transformers can be found at places like Radio Shack.
The transformer puts out about 3 Amps., so it is ideal as a trickle charger. A charge will require about 12 hours. But, it has gotten me out of several jams. Some friends have also borrowed it when their batteries were dead and it worked for them. The center tap allowed the output to be either 6 or 12 volts. At the time I made this charger I helped to maintain an older farm tractor with a 6 volt electrical system.Note: The output of the transformer is actually about 13.4 volts. When the voltage passes through the diodes in the rectifier it drops 0.6 volt for each of two diodes to roughly 12 volts. If you look for a 12 volt transformer you may at first be frustrated because you can find only 13.4 volt transformers.Step 1: The circuit and what you needShow All Items« PreviousNext »View All Steps DownloadAC charge controllers are used to charge a battery bank using regular household type voltage (120VAC, 60Hz). When you need to run a regular household electrical type device in an area where no regular grid power is available, this calculator will help you figure out what size batteries and inverter you need! Welcome to our DC/AC conversion tool (with inverter). This calculator is designed to assist you with power usage amounts, when converting from one power form to another using a DC to AC inverter. Just enter power numbers in the fields below, and we will do the calculations for you, including typical inefficiencies and all that other techie type stuff you may not care to calculate.
If you are not sure of your numbers, have a look at the walkthrough illustrations below when entering numbers. Enter AC Device Ratings Amps AC (enter mAh as .xyz) 12 V     24 V     36 V     48 V Many applications will have a range of Input AC voltage. In the US, it can be anywhere from 100-125 VAC. In Europe, it's usually 200-240. For this example, we'll use the US standard of 120 Volts AC. Input Amperage is how much current the application draws from the AC power. This number is usually rated in Amps. If the current is rated in milliamps (mAh) you can convert it to Amps by diving the number by 1000. For instance, our example application draws 300 milliamps, which is the same as 0.3 Amps. Wattage is the total amount of power the application uses. It's calculated by multiplying voltage by amperage. Therefore the 120 VAC x 0.3 Amps equals 36 Watts. Output Voltage is rating of your battery system, usually a single 12 volt battery. We use 12.5 volts for 12 volt battery systems.
