"It's great and last" My AC system is a Trane xl1200. The outdoor unit was built in 1988, and the handler in 1989 when the house was built. I bought the house 10 years ago and had my first repair after 27/28 years just last week when the motor driving the fan in the outdoor unit broken. Other than that, I never had a problem with it. The xl 1200 has been flawless for us. I owned a Trane xl 1200 for 18 years now and I have never never never had any problems with it what so ever. I cooled a 2600 square foot home with it in Pittsburgh, Pa. Just recently I replaced my furnace and air with another brand but I gave my neighbor my 2 ton xl 2000 and he just loves it compared to the cheap one he had before. The unit has served me well up to this point and doesn't owe me anything.I wouldn't expect to get more that 10-12 years from a unit,they aren't designed to last forever.I would have no problem replacing with another trane,but i am changing the dry forced air heat with radiant.
