no heat from vents in car

I had been wanting a nice car mount for my phone for quite some time now but never wanted to deal with sticking an adhesive onto my car, nor did I want a suction cup on my windshield. So after finally deciding to go with a magnetic car mount, there were multiple brands that do the air vent method like this one does but I decided to go with Spigen because I've bought their brand before and in my experience thus far, they have been quality products. I bought Spigen's iPhone 6s Plus Case, Spigen® [Thin Fit] Exact-Fit [Black] Premium Matte Finish Hard Case for iPhone 6s Plus (2015) - Black (SGP11638) along with this product since the two work together. You can place the magnet right into that case (or any other case really, but I wanted a thin case and this one comes with a notch to insert the thin magnet) and then simply slap it onto the air vent mount and you're good to go. To sum it up, the car mount works perfectly as advertised for me. A few other points:- The phone hasn't slipped off while driving.- I can actually shake the phone with force and it doesn't fall from the magnet.

I have to get pretty rough for it to fall off. No concern with bumpy roads here.- The air vent mount fits snugly into the air vent (with the smaller clip) and shows no sign of coming loose.- You can place the phone in a vertical or horizontal position, whatever you like.- Looks great when the phone is mounted. No big bulky clamps keeping your phone in place. It just sits flush against the vent.
fan motor for ac unit priceAt it's current price of $7.99, it is practically a no brainer to give this a shot if you're even remotely interested in having a car mount for your phone.
hvac unit heat pumpSo far, I haven't experienced any negatives with the mount itself but I'm sure this is a your mileage may vary sort of deal.
uv lamps for ac unitsIf you have air vents that are positioned oddly, this mount may not benefit you.

I'm also not sure if I would want to use it on a freezing cold winter day when I need to blast the heat in the car, so it may be limited on those rare days. Thankfully, I'm in somewhat of a milder climate so that's not much of an issue for me but it might be one for you. It's something to keep in mind. But even if you only used this outside of the winter months, it is well worth the price. It's also worth noting that you can carry around the air vent mount to use it as a kickstand if you want to watch a movie or something indoors, however I haven't used it that way and don't plan to. But I've tested it and it does work well as a kickstand, so that is an option for those who don't mind carrying around the little mount in their pocket or in a bag. This really is a great little car mount at a fantastic price. I'm just wondering why I didn't buy one a long time ago.How car heating and ventilation systems work Now on your iPhone and iPad! Thanks for making it! Belkin: Could you select proper material in your manufacturing process? The 4 "legs" that go in the car vent are made of soft rubber. It works - but not for long. When selecting this material, the engineers should have tested it with extreme hot and extreme cold which is what comes out of the car vent. The rubber falls off pretty quickly. Either buy another product - or be ready to replace this one, regularly. 3 of 3 people found this useful Constantly SLIPS out of Vent! Written by from BELLEVILLE Despite numerous efforts to try and get this mount to hold in a pretty straight forward normal Chrysler PT Cruiser AC vent, no matter how I position or place it in any of the three slots, it literally "ALWAYS" slips & falls out with the potenential of hitting one on numerous items in the car on the way down that could crack the screen.

I've been fortunate and quick enough to catch it most of the times when it falls saving it from hitting something that would "again" easily crack the screen, whether I mount it vertically or horizontally. It would be immensely helpful if there was some method of narrowing or tightening up the plastic vent clasp, as the universal one size, in no way, will work with or on every single cars AC vent considering the various widths of the vents out there. Have considered contacting Apple for a replacement, but have a feeling this is simply how all of them are. Great concept, however, not well thought out or designed. 4 of 4 people found this useful Written by from Pierrefonds I purchased this product a a few months ago and to my frustrating surprise the part that goes into the car vent coated with rubber fell apart and the mount no longer holds the phone in place. This is a bad quality phone holder. Skip it and invest in other more decent material. Compliments the Tesla Model S dashboard above all others competitors.

Written by from San Francisco Simple, elegant, and functional. This is reasonably priced and is an attractive holder that does not look cheap. Tesla Model S owners love this great phone mount. The iPhone is held firmly in place with no problems. Minimal and useful, don't make my mistake though... Written by from Paramus I have been using this with an iPhone 6s in a leather case, it works great. One down side is since it is in front of the slot for ventilation and heating, if the phone is doing a lot while charging and you have the heat on, the phone may shut down due to temperature constraints. I know its something that should be obvious, but say you are getting turn by turn directions, need to answer a call, and warm your feet thanks to winter's kiss. You may have to get ready to drive with you ac on in the winter to bring your phone out of the heat warning screen. Just something to keep in mind. Aside from that, fits the phone firmly. The rubber piece on the back keeps the phone in the vent slot as it should.

Haven't had an issue with it failing out. I do find that it is easier to pull the whole thing out of the slot and place it back in a vent with one hand, as oppose to fiddling with it and trying to pull just the phone out. welkin car vent mount Written by from WHITBY this mount will not fit my iPhone 6s plus. it only fits the phone with no protective cover; so when it falls out; death to your expensive iPhone. Not good for one handed use Written by from Rochester HillsModern, clean design- however, it takes 2 hands to insert or remove your phone. For me, that was a deal breaker. I found another similar mount that is easy to use with one hand. 5 of 5 people found this useful Mount can't accommodate Otterbox Defender Series Case Written by from Rancho Mission Viejo Try as I might, I just couldn't get the arms wide enough to accept the Otterbox. I would recommend that you make sure your phone/protective case can fit. It doesn't appear that it can accommodate any but the most compact cases.

6 of 6 people found this usefulSimple to use, any car. Written by from Greer This product does what it says it will. Works in any car. I take it with me when traveling for rental cars. Love using with maps, etc. never look for your phone. Pops in and out easily. 4 of 5 people found this useful Written by from Richmond It does exactly what it's suppose to do. No more and no less. The phone stays in the mount by friction and there is plenty of it due to the rubber pads cradling the phone. The cradle is spring-loaded towards the centre with a decent amount of force. I am not worried that my 6 plus would fall out unless it's the most extreme off road condition and at which point, I think it will come off the vent all together. Minus 1 star since I haven't figured out a good one-handed method of putting the phone in the mount without knocking the mount around too much. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product and the better way to store my phone in the vehicle.

9 of 10 people found this useful Works Well & fits Great with my iPhone6 Written by from ANCHORAGE I was always hesitant about vent mounts cause i thought they were kinda in the way, but after riding on a curb looking down at my iPhone...using a Cup Holder mount; After looking at these..I thought I'd give it a try and I'm Glad i did. 8 of 9 people found this useful Written by from Elgin It seems like I always gravitate toward Belkin for the last few years when it comes to accessories for my iOS devices. This clip is no exception. Build quality is very high (almost as if Apple made it), and the spring loaded arms that hold the phone move smoothly and hitch free. The mechanism that actually attaches to the vent takes some fiddling to get it solid in the vent, but once you get it, it is rock solid. My iPhone 6 has never fallen out of the bracket, and the bracket is still in the vent as rock solid as the day I installed it. I have tried clips like this before and they never work right.

14 of 16 people found this useful Works well with my 6+ Written by from blowing rock Holds my 6+ contained in a slim profile case very nicely. Keeps the phone in my field of vision while driving so I can use my GPS app without taking my eyes off the road. Only caveat would be not to direct heat to the vent while phone is mounted but, in most cars, this can be easily accomplished. 18 of 21 people found this useful I was excited to buy this for my iPhone 6, but after attempting to use it for a couple of days, I gave up. I could not keep it secured, and it kept falling out of my vent. My car is a 2008 Toyota, and I was warned that it might not work for every car. Thank goodness the Apple Store took it back. 35 of 41 people found this useful Written by from Kelowna Works great, has a little spot to hold your usb cable in place on the back and can be adjusted for vent flap sizes by spinning the clip. 64 of 67 people found this useful Works with iPhone 6 +
