I use it so that my nephew and I could set up his train sets, and hotwheels city sets, etc. and not have to take them down. It uses a regular outlet, and was no fuss to set up. The unit doesn't weigh much, and it doesn't stick out a window which is great because we like the natural light. The dehumidifier, evaporates the moisture, and puts it out the window, and I never had to use the drain on it until this year. The air in my home went out, and I used it to cool a large area and I had to drain it (once). The unit did a great job, and unlike anything I have seen before, it NEVER froze up. I am thankful to have it, and would tell anyone to purchase this unit. The heat on mine is not used often, and has only been used in my fore mentioned building. Got email from supplier saying the a/c had been shipped within an hour of placing order coming from Lincoln NE so it was on time for Thursday .Got a phone call 7:30am Saturday asking if there would be somebody home in 2 hrs to except delivery Wow!!! In house and installed by 10 am Saturday .Oh the unit works great it's getting a good run over this hot sticky Weekend . It is nice and cool and the remote control is a nice feature. It is a little noisy comparable to a motel ac unit. Something I quickly got used to while sleeping. I would but this item again. I did the installation from the window start up the machine set the mode for heating cycle, warm air begin to blow from louver but cool air was blowing out of the back of the machine from the vents and where the filter is located. Then it shut down, I restart it, it function in the same matter. I shut it off. Monday morning I contact the manufacturer concerning the issue I explained the problem also that there is no information in the trouble shooting section for the heating operation. They suggest I keep a product that I am not getting service from, I told the representative I refuse to keep any item that's not performing properly.( It malfunction ) Yes () No ()  Report Yes () No () Verified purchaser First off it is not worth the money. The exhaust hose is very annoying to set up. Once it is on, it wants to pop out the exhaust hose cover. The teeth on the adaptor are very fragile and will break. Some windows are different, so if you don't have the right type of window the cover wont fit right.

The hose itself gets so hot you can feel the heat it is putting off just by standing beside it. The cooling on it is very weak. None of the dials are labeled so you can't even tell what is cool, heat or fan untill you open the book. Better off buying a window unit. We looked in the hole and the fan blades are broken. Can we replace the fan only and not the motor?the fan should be replaceable without a motor. Water indicator light comes on fullThis should only occur if there is a high level of humidity in the room. Such would be normal operation. If the code appears, and the tank has already been emptied, then the machine may require service. Is there a way to drain the lower tank by using the upper drain hose? I am having to empty the lower tank about every 16 hours.

It's very inconvenient and I'm thinking about returning this unit bc of this. I have to unhook it and take it outside for this. If we have understood your inquiry correctly, the end point of the drain pipe that fits into the upper drain port on the LG 14,000 BTU Heat/Cool Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LP1413SHR will not fit into the lower drain port. If you are looking to attach a drain hose to the bottom drain port, you will need to purchase a drain hose that has an inner diameter of 18 mm (11/16") that is long enough for you to either place it's open end in a suitable drain location or to drain it to the outside. You will want to check your local Home improvement stores to see if they are carrying such a hose...^IFV I have my ac on this summer and the air conditioner seems to be leaking profusely. It has been in the 80 and 90 lately and I have a 2 month old son. I tried draining the lower portion on the unit but it still continues to leak how do I fix this situation

In heat mode the unit needs to be drained every few hours from the bottom reservoir. This is cumbersome to say the least. The upper drain is for what purpose?  It seems to drain nowhere? The purposes for both drains and how to use them on your LG 14,000 BTU Heat/Cool Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LP1413SHR are fully explained on pages 22 and 25 of your owner's manual. The Bottom drain is used for draining water when you are using the heating function and the Upper drain is used for emptying the internal Water Collection Tank when it gets full and your display shows "FL" to indicate that it is full and needs to be emptied...^IFV Is there a way to tell if the pump is on in heat mode, other than watching water flow through the tube?  (a light or flash or something?) Other than seeing a confirmation on the display panel of the LG 14,000 BTU Heat/Cool Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LP1413SHR when you change it to the HEAT mode and the temperature reflected on the display, there is no way to tell if it is on...^IFV
