One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating teamed up with The Salvation Army in Birmingham, AL to bring cooling relief to 30 local senior citizens in the form of new portable air conditioning units. One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating donated $13,000 to purchase these units, and their trusted technicians installed them. Representatives from the Salvation Amy conducted visits at the home of senior citizens across the greater Birmingham area to find those most in need. Unfortunately, many low-income elderly residents don’t have sufficient air conditioning in their homes, and because of the medications many take (along with other factors), not having the proper cooling can be a dangerous health situation. One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating Vice-President Dan Stomoff personally delivered and installed a portable air conditioner to Willie Mae Tarver. Having lived in the same home for more than 40 years, she has never had central air, but has had several window units. Her current window units were inadequate for cooling the space, so she was thrilled to receive a new portable AC unit that she could work via remote control.
