If you asked me how i liked this a/c a few weeks ago (shy of it's 1 year anniversary in my home), i WOULD have had glowing reviews. Promptly within a year, the a/c stopped blowing cold air, and instead turned into an oversized wall-embedded fan, blowing room temp air into the room. Luckily i had the Walmart Service agreement (though somewhat suspiciously, Frigidaire kept on trying to get me to upgrade my warranty with them, til the last day), so Walmart was going to send a tech to fix it. Turns out, it's not worth the trouble that this unit causes - the repair company declined to service it and Walmart refunded my money. There was a time when you bought an a/c that lasted through the summers. This one made it through half of last summer, and called it quits before summer even began this year. The unit itself is quieter than I expected, but it is still somewhat noisy.

If you are hoping for a quiet window or wall a/c unit, good luck. There's just a certain amount of noise associated with moving air around. I have slept with it on, and it's been great. Cools the rooms nicely and the unit itself looks great. My main quibble is with the temperature setting. The thermostat on the unit does not match the actual temperature of the room...for example, I'll set it for 68, and it is only 75 in the room when it shuts off. No big deal, it's at least consistent in doing this, but I don't get the discrepancy. However, I am thrilled to have an a/c that shuts off whenever it gets to a set temperature and doesn't just waste energy. Note that you WILL HAVE TO BUY a Frigidaire EA108T wall sleeve for installation unless you already have a universal wall sleeve for your old through-the-wall a/c unit. The energy star certification is a huge plus, and I took advantage of the free site-to-store shipping. Very much worth it! This review only concerns the unit itself. I paid someone else to install it and saved myself the headache;

they didn't have any issues, so it must have been a fairly standard installation. Of course, the living room is best but the two bed rooms are not bad at all. Bought this a month ago to replace a different brand. So far has been excellent in 90 degree plus weather. My problems do not reside with the AC but with the outside architecture of my above door soffit. Not enough air flow and the condenser shuts off to avoid the machine from blowing up. We installed this the day before we had 90 degree + temp and it kept the bedroom nice and cool. I would highly recommend this in wall air conditioner. I also have an in wall Frigidaire air conditioner in the living room. It,too, is dependable and quiet, which is why I chose this brand for the bedroom.
